Hi Pam, My brother Jim St. Clair (now deceased) built one or more funny cars back in the late 60s, one of which was named Lime Fire. I'm working on some research about his car(s) to share with his children and grandchildren, none of whom ever got to see his race cars. In the process of my early research, I've run into some information that you might be able to enlighten me on. (By the way, I've been greatly enjoying the photos you have online of some of the cars you've been associated with!) Someone told me that my brother helped build a car called the Jungle Jim Nova back about the same time as Lime Fire (1967-68), But I keep running into the Jungle Jim Liberman vehicles of a bit later vintage when trying to find this. Since at your site I see that Clare Sanders, who drove Lime Fire, also drove some of your Jungle Jim's vehicles, perhaps the information I got about my brother's involvement was just a mix up. Does Jim St. Clair ring any bells? Jim was in Southern California and had a company or product called Boss Bite that was used to increase traction off the line.

Pam, I found this Steve Reyes photo of the shop Chevy II that Jim started racing after the Hemi was removed and painted metal flake orange. The addition of the big block Chevy engine came a few weeks after I left for Viet Nam in Sept 1966. This photo is with the new Chevy engine and taken at Fremont a few weeks later I presume.

If you have this photo well at least this is what I was chatting about in my novel email I sent you before.

Drag racing is far out. Yes, I have heard that myself. I wonder where!!!

SUBJ: I'd like to thank the academy..

Thanks for the "thumbs up" on the In and Out List. Thanks to Bill Pratt (www.draglist.com) for building and maintaining my site. Most of all, thanks to the legions of Jungle fans out there who take the time to e-mail me with their thoughts, stories and pictures. Drag racers are the best bunch of people on Earth.
